Imagining an entire range of urban lighting furniture proved to be a fascinating task: here I had a chance to offer my vision of a type of object that I usually find to be over-designed, heavily burdened or even aggressive.
What guided my work was a search for the obvious, fluidity and poetry. What resulted was a collection that gave a feeling of a certain form of serenity, something that in my view we don’t often see in the urban landscape. One special feature of Spoon to be noted lies in the material or color plates built into the square section of the mast. These were initially intended to refine the emergence of the profile but also offer a host of possibilities to customize the furniture. This work, that soon came to resemble marquetry, together with a concern for detail and the harmony of proportions, makes Spoon a range intended literally to furnish the City … just as interior furnishing works in most of my design work.

In addition to the Parklex with wood motif available in various colors, the principle of sliding plates in the rails of the mast allows a variety of materials to be used, as with digital prints, woven metal, Corian, etc.
