Technilum and lighting designer François Migeon (8’18 ») have teamed up to create Tonka, a new modular light column with high finish quality.
Designed to address the aesthetic, technical, and environmental challenges of contemporary public spaces, Tonka combines distinctive design, extreme modularity, and high performance to offer project managers and owners a comprehensive, scalable, and customizable lighting solution.
With its minimalist lines, rounded shapes, and numerous configuration options, Tonka opens up new possibilities for lighting public and private spaces.
A unique design, inspired by the tonka bean
Designed by François Migeon, Tonka stands out for its one-piece niche, with a soft, slender shape that evokes both the famous bean from which it takes its name and a skateboard.
This design element adds rhythm and dynamism to the column while giving it a strong identity.
Whether colorful or tone-on-tone, the niches become true customization elements that allow lighting columns to be adapted to each project and each environment.
Modularity designed for today’s projects… and tomorrow’s
The Tonka column consists of 1 to 8 independent rotating modules (360°). Each module, equipped with a colored niche, can accommodate projectors or accessories, and their positioning, both vertically and in terms of rotation, can be set and adjusted on-site according to the site’s needs and uses, in order to create a unique composition that blends seamlessly with the urban landscape.
Made of an aluminum profile with a 160 mm diameter, Tonka can reach a height of up to 8 meters, combining lighting with a variety of features:
- Spotlights: Architectural Paula or Texture lighting Paula
- Accessories: CCTV, soudsystem, water misting…
Its main strength lies in its scalability: new modules or equipment can be added or modified over time to keep pace with changing urban needs and uses.
A multifunctional column that pools services
Tonka’s niches can accommodate various pieces of equipment to combine multiple functions on a single platform:
- Architectural spotlights
